Montevideoaki (2005) is based on the solo performance While going on a Condition, created and danced by Hiroaki Umeda (Uruguay, 1977) and directed by Octavio Iturbe. In a feisty and rhythmic montage, we see Umeda dancing in this performance against different atmospheric backdrops in Montevideo, Uruguay. The urban surroundings add an extra dimension to Umeda’s modern dance: it seems as if his dance style has found its place. The montage and the music complement the dance. Hiroaki Umeda is a multidisciplinarian artist: choreographer, dancer, sound and light designer. Because of his extreme multimedia performances, he is now better known as an autonomous artist than a dancer or choreographer.
