Threshold to the Kingdom (2000)

Youssef is stuck in Calais and clearly wants to get to England. The Channel is his last barrier. It is a very difficult obstacle, and many people who attempt to cross it are arrested or die in the process.
The vastness of the natural elements and the playfulness of the determined Youssef contrast sharply with the high fences, barbed wire and desolate space in between where many have already camped.
