Miss Mosa’s New Office of Aquatic Affairs
Sint Servaasbrug
Every day, thousands pass the unassuming empty bridge keeper’s house on St. Servatius Bridge. The robust stone house features a panoramic window offering views in every direction. Despite its modest size, it occupies what is arguably the city’s most central point. From 12 March to 27 July, it will also serve as Miss Mosa’s New Office of Aquatic Affairs.
Viewmaster Projects commissioned Jacco Olivier (NL) to create a site-specific, spatial projection for this narrow bridge house. He based his work on the monument’s architecture, the River Meuse’s steady flow beneath, and the constant movement of pedestrians crossing above.
Those who pass Miss Mosa’s new office in the evening will be drawn into a surreal, aquatic world where commonplace and extraordinary objects drift by and mingle among TEFAF artworks spanning the entirety of art history.
Jacco Olivier brings his distinctive playful style to the work. Rapid brushstrokes depicting flowing water fill the house, creating a fluvial world where objects merge into painterly abstractions. The continuous loop of the sequence resonates with the perpetual cycles of life and water.
